Assists crew chief in fabricating and maintaining wood structures and equipment, including assembling stages and risers for special events. Participates in repairing doors, frames, locks, masonry, tile, modular furniture, and restroom partitions. Ensures safe, effective, and fully operational facilities.

Installs and repairs chain link fences, monitors park structures, and performs minor cabinetmaking, woodwork, and drywall. Constructs barricades for traffic control at public events and concrete sidewalks and retainer walls. Assists with other trades and seasonal maintenance.

Requirements

One (1) year of carpentry and/or general construction experience
Valid driver's license with good driving record
Ability to obtain Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within probationary period for some positions
Knowledge of power tools and their proper usage
Basic knowledge of construction practices
Basic knowledge of general carpentry and woodworking
Ability to use carpenter's hand tools, saws, and electric sanders
Ability to read blueprints
