About this role

The Carpenter performs a wide variety of tasks including various repairs from minor to major, unskilled to highly skilled. These encompass painting, drywall repair, remodeling, general carpentry, and trim carpentry. This role ensures all work meets industry standards and local codes.

Daily activities involve basic installation and minor repairs to flooring systems like carpeting, vinyl, hardwood, and laminate. Tasks include drywall hanging, taping, and finishing, along with installing trim, base, molding, doors, hardware, cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Additional duties cover painting, caulking, window installation, board ups, punch list repairs, and basic cleanup.

Work requires walking and standing throughout the day, frequently climbing ladders, and using hardware tools and power equipment. Employees face occasional extreme heat, loud noise levels, and must lift at least 50 lbs. Normal hours are 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with frequent long hours, on-call, weekends, and local travel.

Requirements

  • 2 years of construction experience
  • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic knowledge of construction equipment, tools, and their application
  • Basic knowledge and relevant experience with common plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Possess good carpentry skills, including trim work and framing

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic installation and minor repair to flooring systems including carpeting, vinyl, hardwood, and laminate
  • Perform basic drywall repairs including hanging, taping, and finishing
  • Perform installation of trim, base, and other molding components
  • Perform installation of doors and door hardware
  • Perform installation of cabinets, countertops, and cabinet components
  • Perform basic painting tasks including caulking and filling crevices
  • Perform installation of residential windows and components
  • Repair punch list items and perform basic cleanup as work is completed
