About this role
As a Safety Officer (SiBe), you will play a key role in ensuring occupational safety, health protection, and environmental protection (HSE) within the company. You will advise and support executive management, managers, and employees. Actively contribute to preventing occupational accidents, health risks, and environmentally relevant incidents while establishing a sustainable safety culture.
Your day-to-day involves developing and implementing HSE policies, safety concepts, and management systems compliant with legal requirements. Conduct risk assessments, investigate accidents and near misses, and derive protective measures. Plan internal audits, safety inspections, training sessions, and emergency drills.
Collaborate closely with innovation, production staff, HR, managers, and external bodies like SUVA, EKAS, and occupational physicians. Assume the role of Safety Officer per EKAS requirements. Base in Witterswil, Solothurn, with good public transport (Tram 10) and free parking.
Promote HSE key performance indicators, prepare management reports with trend analyses, and maintain documentation for audits. Foster an open reporting culture embedding safety as a core value. Opportunity to complete EKAS-recognized training part-time if needed.
Requirements
- Completed scientific or technical education (BSc or MSc) or solid technical vocational training
- Further training as Safety Officer (EKAS-recognized, SiBe, SiFa) advantageous; willingness to complete part-time
- Several years of professional experience in comparable HSE role
- In-depth knowledge of Swiss occupational safety, health protection, and environmental legislation
- Basic knowledge of occupational medicine relevant to workplace safety
- Very good German and English skills (spoken and written); French advantageous
- Strong analytical skills, structured solution-oriented style, high responsibility and initiative
- Swiss or EU citizen or C Swiss resident permit
Responsibilities
