About this role

Polypipe Building Products delivers solutions to the residential sector, including above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions, and hot and cold plastic plumbing products. We are recruiting General Operatives for the Extrusion team based at our Neale Road site.

Ensure production outputs are achieved on time and in full while checking products for defects to maintain quality standards. Package inspected products with relevant labels and capture data into systems like Zaptic, Mattec, Production, and QA sheets. Move approved products to the finished goods yard after booking.

Select products for packing based on visual and dimensional quality from internal specifications, starting only after first-off approval. Collect samples for quality checks on stress, dimensions, marking, overweight, and visual attributes. Perform minor fault finding and rectification after relevant training.

Maintain a clean and safe working area, separating waste into designated containers. Undertake continuous improvement programs wherever possible. Join a supportive workplace committed to safety, inclusivity, and development.

Requirements

Ensure product selected for packing is the correct visual and dimensional quality as defined on product internal specification information
Select and print descriptive labels and attach to appropriate product or stillage
Collect samples of extruded product for quality checking (stress, dimensions, marking, overweight and visual)
Perform minor fault finding and rectification as required after relevant training
Transfer data onto relevant systems (Zaptic, Mattec, Production and QA sheets) including production booking, downtime, scrap, overweight and quality checks
Knowledge of H&S and Environmental requirements

Responsibilities

Ensure production outputs are achieved on time and in full
Ensure quality standards are always achieved by checking the product for defects
Ensure product once inspected is placed into packaging with relevant labels
Ensure all relevant data is captured and entered onto appropriate systems (Zaptic, Mattec, Production and QA sheets)
Move product to finished goods yard once booked onto system with relevant forms and labels
Undertake a programme of continuous improvement wherever possible
Ensure a clean and safe working area for yourself and others
Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers
