The Carpenter 1 performs general carpentry and concrete tasks on various construction projects including new construction, renovations, and other types. Duties include concrete, rough, and finish carpentry using a variety of tools and specialized equipment. All activities support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Requirements

Working knowledge of all concrete tools and carpentry hand tools
Basic understanding and use of principles of layout and construction math
Proficiency with the basic elements of framing or forming
Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance
Adheres to JE Dunn safety standards and OSHA requirements

Responsibilities

Set forms for concrete including foundations, SOG, bulkheads
Place concrete with bucket, chute, pump and proper placement procedures
Perform basic finishing of concrete with floats and trowels on columns, walls, foundations
Clean and maintain concrete and forming tools
Demonstrate proficiency with basic elements of framing or forming
Install in-wall and roof blocking, general carpentry
Erect safety railings, cover floor openings, install temporary partitions and doors
Assist in the installation of doors, frames and hardware
