About this role

APTIM is executing some of the most technically complex federal demolition and environmental redevelopment projects in the country. Seeking a Construction Manager to lead large-scale, high-visibility demolition operations at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, one of the most scrutinized federal programs. This role demands a seasoned demolition leader with experience in structural teardown, hazardous materials, and union craft labor under Project Labor Agreements.

Serve as on-site authority for full operational control of demolition planning, sequencing, labor coordination, safety performance, schedule execution, and cost control. Directly lead craft workforce starting at 25+ personnel, expanding to 50-75+ multi-trade workers during peak operations. Requires visible field leadership and strong labor coordination in a union environment.

Oversee heavy equipment operations, integrate with abatement and environmental remediation teams, and coordinate operators, laborers, carpenters, ironworkers, and subcontractors. Conduct daily production meetings, monitor productivity, and maintain relationships with union representatives. Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and PLA requirements.

Act as primary field point-of-contact with Navy, USACE, EPA, and state regulators while adhering to HAZWOPER, OSHA, and environmental standards. Drive production to meet aggressive federal milestones, control costs, and mitigate risks in this technically demanding setting. Lead field-level change management for high-stakes demolition execution.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of construction management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership on heavy industrial or federal demolition projects
  • Proven experience directly managing union craft labor under Project Labor Agreements
  • Experience with structural teardown, hazardous materials, and environmental controls
  • Knowledge of regulatory oversight including HAZWOPER, OSHA, and federal quality standards
  • Expertise in heavy equipment operations and controlled demolition sequencing
  • Strong skills in workforce scaling, labor productivity monitoring, and union relations
