Titan Virginia Ready Mix has an excellent opportunity for a Plant Operator based in Richmond, VA. This hourly position reports directly to the Operations Supervisor and oversees all ready mix concrete plant operations.

The Plant Operator works independently, managing operations, maintenance, production, inventory control, safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Responsibilities include safe, efficient production of ready-mix concrete using an automated computerized batching system. Maintain a consistent batching sequence and monitor scale and gate accuracy to meet customer expectations.

Ensure a safe workplace by following company policies and OSHA guidelines, conducting and documenting training for employees. Inspect plant facilities, equipment, and ready mix units to uphold maintenance, housekeeping, and safety standards. Operate and maintain the plant in compliance with environmental standards, including water management and air quality permits.

Troubleshoot light plant maintenance problems and use front end loader to load materials from stockpiles. Utilize computer programs like Command Batch, Systech, and SAP efficiently. The position rotates to various plants as needed, supporting Titan's continuous growth and development.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with automated computerized batching systems for ready-mix concrete production
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safety regulations for plant operations
  • Experience operating front-end loaders and performing minor equipment maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot light plant maintenance issues
  • Understanding of environmental compliance standards including water management and air quality permits
  • Proficiency in inventory control for raw materials, cement, fly ash, and admixtures
  • Skill in monitoring scale and gate accuracy for consistent batching
  • Competence with plant management software such as Command Batch, Systech, and SAP

Responsibilities

  • Produce ready-mix concrete safely and efficiently using an automated computerized batching system
  • Maintain a consistent batching sequence and monitor scale and gate accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and resolve light plant maintenance problems to ensure efficient operations
  • Inspect plant facilities, equipment and ready mix units to ensure maintenance, housekeeping and safety standards
  • Operate front end loader to load material from stockpiles and perform housekeeping duties
  • Utilize computer programs efficiently including Command Batch, Systech, and SAP
