The Lead Hand supervises trade employees assigned to a particular construction discipline or work areas, reporting to Foreman or Superintendent.
Lead Hands build concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters, towers, and other structures while ensuring all work complies with safety policies. They monitor storage of materials, tools, and equipment, assign tasks based on worker capabilities, and identify hazards to correct unsafe conditions. Participation in QA/QC checks, inspections, site orientations, and tailgate meetings is essential.
Represent Clark Builders professionally, adhering to policies and ensuring proper PPE use for all tasks. Work involves standing, crouching, kneeling for long periods with manual dexterity and balance on scaffolding, plus exposure to extreme outdoor weather. Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory skills, and conflict resolution support team leadership.

Requirements
- Journeyperson trade certification
- 5-8 years of construction experience
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and communicate this information to others
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills
- Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods with manual dexterity and balance for scaffolding
- Capability to work outside in extreme weather conditions
- Conflict resolution skills
- Valid first aid certificate an asset
Responsibilities
- Build concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters, towers and other structures
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Clark Builders safety policies and procedures
- Monitor storage of material, tools, and equipment for proper and secure conditions
- Assign tasks to workers according to their capabilities and training
- Identify hazards and correct any unsafe conditions
- Participate in QA/QC checks and inspections
- Lead site specific orientations and tailgate meetings
- Ensure use of proper PPE for workers performing tasks
