Day-to-day involves leading the Project Procurement Plan for cost-effective M&E packages and managing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations to review Actual vs. Forecast spends. Handle sub-contractor tendering, variation accounts, valuations, payments, and contract administration including Pay Less Notices. Maintain a Live Risk & Opportunity Register while engaging stakeholders through Commercial Progress Meetings.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Proven track record within the mechanical & electrical/building services industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
  • Comprehensive understanding of tendering & construction process
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the Project Procurement Plan, identifying the most cost-effective route for specialist M&E packages
  • Manage and coordinate the monthly Cost Value Reconciliations process, reviewing Actual vs. Forecast spends
  • Lead the tendering and appointment of specialist trades ensuring Back-to-Back contractual terms
  • Identify, develop, and manage the Variation Account for site instructions with the Main Contractor
  • Manage the monthly Application for Payment process, including measurement of on-site progress and Materials on Site
  • Review incoming Pay Less Notices and Payment Certificates for compliance with Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act
  • Identify and manage commercial risks via a Live Risk & Opportunity Register
  • Provide regular updates to the Commercial Manager on cash flow, liabilities, and disputed variations
